Somers Park, across both of its sites, has a large and enthusiastic parent community that are keen to support the school. FOSP provides a focus for parental involvement and supports the wider activities of the governing body. We aim to encourage and advance the education, enrichment and well-being of the children at the school.

FOSP is about much more than simply fundraising. The group exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It is fun too - just ask any of the FOSP members!

Our motto is "Do Different" - an aim that embodies the varied and enthusiastic approach that Somers Park Primary School takes in its daily life. Our events and activities support the school by engaging pupils and enriching their experience here at Somers Park; film nights, discos, fairs and competitions are just some of the things we organise that raise funds for our community. We have invested in play equipment, library renovations and playground markings, we try to ensure all children will benefit from the generous donations our whole school community makes.

All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. Whether it is your money, your time or your kind support, FOSP values the contribution parents and children make. The committee is made up of volunteers who are parents of children at the school, and as a parent of a child at Somers Park you automatically become a member of FOSP. Currently we meet via zoom and information about meetings will be emailed beforehand.
