It's a great pleasure of mine to welcome you to the website of our school; we hope you find all of the information you require.
We are a 3-form, split-site primary school serving the north of Malvern, including Malvern Link and the Malvern Vale development. A school with a rich history, we have recently grown to meet the needs of an expanding town, moving into the Malvern Vale site in September 2018. Presently, we have 607 children across both sites.
On our Somers Park site, we have our school nursery which provides a high quality, teacher led nursery for children from 2 years and 9 months to 4 years. Here, you will see our youngest children developing self-confidence, social interaction and resilience as they build all of the skills they need to start in reception.
Everything we do at Somers Park is about the children. During their time at Somers Park, we enjoy seeing our learners grow into independent thinkers who have a thirst for learning and great enjoyment of school. This comes as a result of an interesting and progressive curriculum delivered by skilled and caring teaching and support staff.
Our Think. Know. Explain. Do. curriculum model flows through the school. Children are encouraged to challenge their own ideas and those of others, experiment and explore, they engage with experiences which support and develop the whole child.
Two sites. One school.
In our opinion we have the best of both worlds- fantastic modern facilities with a small school feel at Malvern Vale, accompanied by the original site which has an established, forward thinking culture, demonstrating proven success over a number of years. As an early academy convertor, we are now the largest school in Mercian Education Trust, a small Trust comprising four Worcestershire schools and one school in Herefordshire.

Somers Park site
Sitting at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Somers Park School has been on its site on Somers Park Avenue since 1909. Evolving originally, from 'The British School' (through a number of transformations) our lineage since 1844 makes us one of the oldest schools in Malvern and Worcestershire.
Walking around the site, the size of which regularly surprises visitors to the school, you may notice some of the original features of the building, including the stone signage to the old boys’ and girls’ entrances. However, over the years the site has been added to and enhanced in many ways. Our outside space is amazing! Two separate woodlands, a large playing field, a working garden and three playgrounds allows our children to explore play and learn with confidence both in and out of the classroom.
Including our onsite nursery for children from 2 years and 9 months, we currently have over 450 children on roll at the Somers Park site which is home to the original two form entry school.
Malvern Vale site
The stunning new Malvern Vale site of Somers Park Primary School opened in September 2018, to an inaugural class of 13 children. The site is now at capacity, with seven classes from Reception to Year 6, working in parallel to our classes at the Somers Park site.
A brand new building with strong eco credentials including a natural grass roof and solar panels, our classrooms are light and spacious and we are fortunate to have a wealth of purposeful intervention spaces and a fabulous school hall.
